Why listening to music when painting is so important to me.

Music has such a magical affect on me, and practically everybody. Mind you, I am very particular when it comes to music, because I am so sensitive to sound. Some music can make my energy very upset, and I just have to get away from it. And then there is my mood of the day. Some days I feel like listening to Sam Cooke, and other days I want to listen to Pierce the Veil or Backstreet Boys or Etta James. haha I am a hopeless romantic, to say the least. And so a lot of music I listen to has to do with love. But when you think about it most music is about love. It's like poetry. Since love is probably the most important thing in our lives, most music, poetry, films, etc are about love.
Back to listen to music when I paint... I always always play music when I paint. I wonder sometimes if the different kinds of music I listen to comes out in my paintings. When I am sad, I will listen to classical music like Chopin, Debussy, or Tchaikovsky. It really calms me. When I am joyful and excited, I will listen to bossa nova or jazz. I LOOOVE JAZZ! It is probably my favorite style of music. It is so artistic and can be improvised in such a creative way. I have always wanted to be a jazz musician, playing either the trumpet or the standup bass. One day, or in the next life.
Now go listen to whatever makes you happiest!
